Theathrhytm Final Fantasy Quick Look [GO/ER]

http://youtu.be/03_QuztDdqg The terribly, unfortunately named Theathrhythm Final Fantasy came out today. Brad and Jeff are here to tell you about it. Oh man, guys…I want to replace my 3DS now. This looks ridiculous and awesome.

Spelunky Quick Look [GO/ER]

http://youtu.be/gJlPun8LQss The Giant Bomb crew check out Spelunky! Will they die a million times? No doubt! Will they rob a shopkeeper without realizing how dangerous it is? I hope so. This is gonna be so great! EDIT: When Jeff, Brad, and Patrick start multiplayer at ~31 minutes in…I was dying of laughter. Love how much of an asshole Jeff is and how awesome this game seems.

NSMBW Ends Friendships [Embedded Reporter]

Deep from the trenches, it’s time for your Monday video feature: Embedded Reporter. New Super Mario Bros. Wii came out yesterday to the delight of many who missed old school Mario adventures and were looking for a chance to relive the fun of the old days with their family and friends. It also shipped with a 4-player mode that I’m convinced will end friendships, break up marriages, and devastate any other relationships you might have. Just one person acting like a jerk (hint: it was me) in the 3-player matches I played with Eric and Danielle was enough to have her swear off of the multiplayer modes, so imagine four people going nuts. ...

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories [Big N]

I’m not a fan of the horror genre. Not even a little bit. The only “survival horror” game I’ve ever played was Eternal Darkness and, despite how awesome that game is, it scared the bejesus out of me in some places. Yet here we are again with another horror game tempting me with it’s interesting aesthetic. The Silent Hill series has always been the more “intellectual” survival horror game compared to Resident Evil, in that it relied more on psychological scares in places and was designed to reflect that. The enemies and locations were generated from repressed psychological instincts rather than just using standard horror tropes. Combat was never any good because the point of the game was that the protagonist was a regular Joe, not someone accustomed to fighting freakish monsters. ...

L4D Survival Mode [Game Overview]

Insert another credit, because it’s time for your weekly video game news and you’ve just hit the Game Overview screen. The Left 4 Dead survival mode has finally hit the tubes and I think there’s really only one adjective that can accurately describe it: hard. The video I posted below comes from Giant Bomb’s Brad Shoemaker playing it on the 360, but let me tell you, the unprepared will fare no better, even on a PC. ...
